Voices of Transformation

Fern by Jess Winters 10/10/24
Through the undergrowth I emerge, uncoiling myself slowly.
With each new chapter of life.
Protected by those who came before me.
They shelter me from the rains.
Allowing me the light I need to unravel and spread my delicate and glorious leaves.
To then rise on top whilst cradled by those who came before me.
I know I will stand strong, bearing the elements of time.
To then be the support of a new life,
Guiding its tender roots and branches to grow,
All while held by those who came before me.

Korimiko

I know my purpose

With inherent joy and ease

I pass on my knowledge

With my abundance of seeds

Breathy freely, with hope

Enjoying every breeze

I am part of a collective vision

That rests with the trees

Hangzhou Nature Retreat

Collective Poem

Ther is no hierarchy

Expansion and growth is

experienced equally.

I have never notice you by my ignorance

Gentleness and sharpness are all your beauty.

Allow vines anxiety and expectations

everything records this life and past life’s secrets

All beings are messengers

Life is planting the seeds

I’m loving you,

Please keep going up bravely.

KO-O-RO—IA
(whisper/chant while deeply inhaling)
(holding breath chant)
He shall not claim the honour of the first call
But I

(chant while exhaling)
Tis I … the breath of life
KO…ORO…AIA
(chant while holding breath)

RA-WA By Faithe

I am the face of RA
Reflected up into the heavens
Beams of radiant sunshine
My central eye pierces the darkness to reveal the pure light source within … let your soul’s purpose shine
Fill this time and place with the essence of the pure spirit that is within

TAU-a-WAI By Faithe

I am water’s foothold
Tenuously clinging to the water banks
Siphoning and resiphoning muddy waters
restoring pure oxygen back into the river of life

Natural Leaders Ecotherapy Training Collective Poem

By Craig, Davina, Faithe, Jasmine, Jess, Julie, Karlena, Lorraina, Mandi, Marina, Mélanie, Miriama, Patu, Toni & Victoria

Through the undergrowth, I emerge,
I am nature, naturally simple, naturally beautiful.
While I am here, I will stand tall.

The wind is making your leaves dance while singing words that I cannot understand.

The strong firm tree stands in the wind.

A beacon to light.
Carry my purse with care.
Ordinary in the extraordinary.
With my abundance of seeds.

Seeking light in wind and rain, ready to become holy again.

Soft to the touch, strength and vitality.

Kor – o – RO – IA.
TAU – A – WAI.
RA – WA.

You are the essence, essential to the world’s turning, and one in between.
The mind seeds what it wants to bee leave, says the tree to the seed.

This is the only moment.

“Totara” By Rata 2024 Belmont

Guess my name

If you have forgotten your way, I remain steadfast with patience

No life is in vain.

I am hope, the one that remains

Ready for you

When you’ve lost your way.

Gorse By Ross

You have pierced my canvas clothing

Tasted my blood

Left the tips of your needles under my skin
Showered down my collar as I crawled beneath you.

I’ve made wine from your blossoms

Sheltered in your hollowed cave
Watched you blush across the hillsides

Heard your popcorn pods pop in the late summer heat

Smelt your wild and musky sweetness

I’ve seen you in all stages

Seedling soft

Adolescent sharp

Generative adult

Old age decay

Yielding to the bush

WAITANGI (The Waterfall) By Faithe

Wairere speaks…
I will cry for you mokopuna
I will take your limiting beliefs and wash them far away
Trickle them away down over boulders
And out to sea
Recharge the mamae with shafts of sunlight
And support you in whatever you do
Takoto mai ra
Takoto mai ra
Lay them down
Know that I will never let you down
Wear the healing band of parekawakawa
E tangi, e tangi, takoto mai ra.
